Candidates discussed the possibility of being on Kirksville City Council

The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce held a candidate forum at The Shrine Club in Kirksville.

With the City of Kirksville elections just one week away, Tuesday night residents got a chance to hear what will be on next week's ballot.

The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce held a candidate forum at The Shrine Club in Kirksville.

Kirksville City Council Candidates Brandon Athon, Richard Detweiler, Randall Bacon, and Glen Mortiz had a chance to introduce themselves and answered questions on issues such as opportunities for Truman State and A.T. Still University students here in the city, the idea of commercial businesses on Highway 63, and the all important wastewater bond issue.

The bond issue was also addressed to the public at the forum as the city explained how much the waterwaste plant needs renovation.

Voters will be making the final say when they head to the polls next Tuesday April 2.
