Canton man arrested for animal abuse

On Tuesday April 29th, members of the Lewis County Sheriffâ??s Office arrested Kirby W. Clark, 57, of rural Canton, Mo., on one count of animal abuse and 31 counts of failure to properly dispose of dead animals, all misdemeanor offenses.
This arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Lewis County Sheriffâ??s Office earlier this year. On March 21st the Lewis County Sheriffâ??s Office served a search warrant to Clark and searched his farm located in rural Lewis County. At that time law enforcement located 28 dead cattle in a small pond along with four other cattle in other locations on the farm.
Clark was released after posting $10,000 bond.
The Lewis County Sheriffâ??s Office was assisted by the Missouri Department of Agriculture during their investigation.
