Cardinal Community Schools receive Safe School Certification
Cardinal Community Schools in Eldon gives out diplomas every spring, but the school now has a degree of its own with its new Safe School Certification.
This means that staff and 24 students are trained on how to handle bullying. School officials say the certification reinforces the positive climate the school says theyâ??re proud to have.
Cardinal Elementary Principal Heather Buckley says, â??Number one I think it is so important that we make sure that every student feels connected and has a positive relationship with someone at this school both with our staff members and the student to student interactions and to do everything we can to strengthen these relationships here so they feel more successful and supported.â??
The Cardinal Community School district is only the second school in the state to receive the certification. It took the district 3.5 years to get it.
