Verdict in for former southeast Iowa boarding school director

KTVO's sister station KHQA-TV is reporting that the jury has found Benjamin Trane, the former director of Midwest Academy in Keokuk, Iowa, guilty on the following charges:

Charge 1: Sexual Abuse, Assault with Intent to Commute Sexual Abuse (Aggravated Misdemeanor)

Charge 2: Sexual Exploitation of a Child by a Counselor

Charge 3: Child Endangerment

The jury resumed deliberations Friday morning, coming to a verdict in about two hours.

When Trane is sentenced, he could get as much as 17 years in prison.

He will have to register as a sex offender.

Trane has been on trial in a South Lee County Courthouse for nine days.
