The American Gothic House Center in Eldon, Iowa will be celebrating the holiday season this weekend as part of the Christmas in Eldon Festival.
KTVO spoke with Holly Berg, the administrator at the American Gothic House Center about the event, and others taking place in the historic town.
"Kids can come in and we will have graham cracker houses that they can decorate with candy and frosting. We will also have hot cider and cookies for everyone that stops by. Even if you are not a kid, you should stop by and see all of the graham cracker houses being decorated," said Berg.
The Christmas in Eldon celebration will also host events at the Rock Island Depot and the McHaffey Opera House.
"We have a lot of things going on in Eldon throughout the weekend. The McHaffey Opera House has their Christmas Tree Wonderland; it will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Rock Island Depot will also be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All of their hours can be found by calling us at 652-3352, and I can give you all of the details," said Berg.
