      Celebrating Easter by running

The rain didn't stop runners and walkers from participating in one church's Easter celebration.

About 150 people participated in the 4th annual ARISE event Saturday morning at the First Baptist Church in Kirksville. The event included a 5K Run, an 8 Mile Bike Race, a 1 Mile Walk and a Kids Fun Run.

Family and friends of the participants also came out to show their support.

Organizers say it's great to see a bigger turnout every year.

"Every year for the past 4 years, we've had a great turnout of the community. It's a great time for all of us to get together and have some fun and celebrate this Easter weekend together. We are very happy with it," said ARISE Race Director Charles Hunsaker.

There was also lots of food to enjoy, a bounce house for the kids, an easter egg hunt, live band and more.

Blind runner Dennis Miller did the whole 5K Race.

The church's Easter celebration will conclude Sunday with an Easter morning service starting at 10:45.
