      Charges stem from head-on collision

      A Northeast Missouri man is behind bars for an alleged drunk driving incident.According to court papers, Spencer Jacques, 24, of Novinger, was intoxicated when he crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by Rebecca Barnes, 40, of Novinger on June 18th. The head-on collision happened one and a half miles west of Kirksville on Potter Trail. Barnes received moderate injuries and was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.Jacques is charged with second degree assault: operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in injury, and tampering with a motor vehicle.He's being held in the Adair County Jail on $25,000 cash only bond.Early morning head-on collision
