      Child development center is now enrolling

      The Kirksville Child Development Center is now enrolling students for this fall.

      One Heartland pre-school is already looking forward to the new school year.

      The Kirksville Child Development Center is now enrolling students for this fall. the center takes youngsters ages two to five.

      The mixed-age classroom offers activities such as reading and painting. There's also a clubhouse and a climbing room for kids to enjoy. Instructors at the center believe that the youngsters learn best when they're playing.

      "They can learn just about anything...friendships and relationships or about science things...physics or chemistry. We do lots of science experiments. About art, reading, and writing...things like that in amongst play when its most meaningful to them and that's the best way that they learn," said KCDC Director Katy Korte.

      The center is also going through a remodeling process to help add more fun.

      Classes start on Monday, August 14.
