'Christmas in Eldon' offers activities for the entire family

Gingerbread Houses will be on display at The American Gothic House now until Dec. 14

Itâ??s going to feel a lot like Christmas this weekend in Eldon.

The American Gothic House will be having its annual gingerbread house making party on Saturday.

From 1 to 4, kids of all ages are welcome to come and decorate their very own gingerbread house with all the candy they want. And the best part is: itâ??s free!

â??I think we're going to plan for about 50 or 60 kids tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough to get a bunch out and we have a lot of other events going on in Eldon this weekend and we usually get a really great crowd with all the things going on,â?? said Holly Berg, American Gothic House Coordinator.

Berg said there will also be plenty of cider and yummy homemade treats for everyone that comes to The American Gothic House on Saturday.

The McHaffey Opera House will also have its Christmas Tree Wanderland going on and the Eldon Depot will be open with all its trains on display.

Berg said Christmas in Eldon is a wonderful weekend that brings the community together as well as brings in those from outside the community.
