Fundraiser provides gifts for around 400 children
KIRKSIVLLE, MO. —
'Tis the season of giving, and on Saturday, the annual Adopt-a-Child Christmas Party was held at the Moose Lodge in Kirksville.
The program is designed to give Christmas gifts to around 400 children in the Heartland area who may not get one this holiday season.
Organizer, Dick Hughes says the auction has been going on for about 10 years now.
He says he enjoys helping kids and the event is put on as a public service to the community.
All of the proceeds go to the fire department.
Hughes says the event would not be possible without the help of community volunteers.
“We have a great supporting cast that makes this all work.”
