City collecting tree limbs and brush
It looks like spring is finally here, and with spring comes outdoor maintenance.
Monday you may have noticed the Kirksville Public Works Department coming down your street.
The Street Maintenance Division of the department is going throughout the entire city to begin picking up tree limbs and large brush that residents have trimmed and put out on the curb.
Everything should have been put out by 7 Monday morning.
The department will continue picking up until they have gone through the entire city.
Director John Buckwalter said they wonâ??t go back to areas that they have already covered.
â??If all of your neighbors still have limbs and brush still pilled in their yard, go ahead and get yours out,â?? Buckwalter said.
â??But, if we've already gone through and picked it up, Iâ??m sorry. The basic policy is have it out by Monday morning and thatâ??s when we start. Weâ??ll do it again in the fall typically itâ??s the first part in October.â??
Buckwalter said you can dispose bagged leaves and other bagged yard waste at the Public Works Building Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
