City of Kirksville gearing up for Illinois Street reconstruction
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
The City of Kirksville is gearing up for a complete reconstruction of several blocks of Illinois Street.
Starting January 1, permanent No Parking signs will be posted along a 9-block section of the street.
The Kirksville Public Works Department says the plan is to do a complete tear-out of Illinois Street, from Marion to Baltimore.
Although parking on the street will be eliminated, the city is looking at adding bicycle lanes.
According to the proposed 2018 budget, the price tag is estimated at about $800,000.
City staffers say letters will soon be sent out to inform residents of the no parking changes.
