City of Kirksville remembers longtime city attorney
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
One Heartland city is mourning the loss of one of its own.
Longtime Kirksville City Attorney Howard Hickman passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018.
Hickman served as the city attorney for 37 years.
He was born on July 6, 1951, in Hannibal, Missouri.
Hickman graduated from the University of Missouri with both his undergraduate degree and the School of Law with his Juris Doctorate Degree.
Shortly after graduation, he moved to Kirksville to practice law in 1977.
At Monday's State of the City Address, a moment of silence was held in remembrance of Hickman.
Kirksville City Manager Mari Macomber said he was an integral part of the city and will be missed by all.
Visitation with family will be from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018, at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Kirksville's Highland Park Cemetery.
