A large gift will have a big impact on the availability of locally grown foods.

Appanoose County Philanthropist Morgan E. Cline has made a $500,000 gift to the Centerville Campus of Indian Hills Community College.

The key component of this gift will be a massive green house that will be used to grow produce.

The complex will also include a learning center, welcome space, classrooms and offices as well as a processing center for distribution.

â??An exciting part of the project is the educational opportunity that it will present. Aside from being a great laboratory for our Sustainable Agriculture program, the college will also schedule tours and facilitate other community outreach programs, such as continuing education classes, with topics ranging from backyard gardening to packaging," said Dr. Jim Lindenmayer, President of Indian Hills.
