College students talk breast cancer

Heartland residents were brought into the life of someone who battles breast cancer during an interactive theatre performance.

"Dialogues about Breast Cancer" is put on by the university of Missouri theatre program.

The play was written by m-u professor Heather Carver.

The show is based on research that focused on the interaction between breast cancer survivors and their doctors.

The actors performed three short scenes that featured such exchanges.

After each scene, the crowd was allowed time for q-and-a with the actors, who remained in character until the end of the show.

The goal is to get people who may not have been through experiences like this to improve the relationship between doctor and patient.
