Come and cool off at Kirksville's wading pools

With the summer season heading into full swing, Kirksville is helping parents and their kids stay cool with the use of the city's wading pools.

With the summer season heading into full swing and with very warm temperatures on the way, people are finding ways to cool off.

The city of Kirksville is helping parents and their kids stay cool with the use of the city's wading pools.

Our cameras were at Brashear Park Monday afternoon as kids were playing around and getting wet to get some relief from the heat.

The pools were not used much these past few weeks due to the cooler temperatures, but now the weather is just right for kids to come out and play.

"I think they are having a lot of fun. They've been pretty well behaved. That's always good. The water is at a good temperature. A bit chilly, but with the sun it feels good. It will get more crowded as the summer goes on. In the middle of summer, it gets busy," said Lifeguard Carlye Marszalek.

The wading pool at Brashear Park will be open from 2 p.m. through 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. P.C. Mills will have its wading pool open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Jaycee Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
