â??When soldiers are preparing to go on combat tours it just means everything to them to know that people care about them back home and that people wish them well and tell them Godspeed for their journey. So we love it when the public comes out to support our soldiers there. It just means so much and the people of Iowa are just absolutely tremendous. They are the greatest supporters we could ever have,â?? said Col. Greg Hapgood, Iowa National Guard Public Affairs Officer.
A couple of the unitâ??s main jobs is to working to locate minefields and explosive devices and executing mobility mission, as well as performing infantry missions as required.
