Cornerstone Church to host free meal on Thanksgiving Day
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
Cornerstone Church in Kirksville will be holding their yearly Thanksgiving meal next week.
This is a free meal with turkey, ham and all the fixings for anyone looking for a place to go this year.
Last year, around 230 people attended theThanksgiving meal and the church is hoping to beat that number this year.
You don't need to be a member of the church to attend. Anyone and everyone is welcome.
The meal will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, starting at 11:00 a.m.
"Our idea is that no one should be alone on Thanksgiving," said Lora Shipley, Ladies Ministry Director. "God tells us we are to always give thanks in everything that we do and we are to show love and grace and joy and we want to share that with everyone in the community, not just those in our congregation."
When the meal ends, the church will also provide meals for emergency workers that are on call.
