Court date for man accused of running into Ottumwa home with SUV

An Ottumwa man who drove a stolen truck into a south side home in July will make his next court appearance next month.

According to online court records, Gregory Kyle Ableman, 23, will be arraigned in Wapello County Court on September 11.

Ableman is facing a slew of charges, including second degree theft, attempting to elude while participating in a felony, OWI and possession of prescription drugs.

Ableman was arrested on July 11 after he allegedly stole an SUV and attempted to elude police before crashing the vehicle into a home on Chester Street.

No one was injured as a result of the crash.

Ableman has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He remains in custody at the Wapello County Jail on $10,000 bond.
