Two people were injured in an early morning crash that closed a portion of Highway 63 in Kirksville. The crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 6 East and Highway 63.

Kirksville police tell KTVO a van driven by Judith Wilson, 74, of Kirksville was eastbound on Highway 6.

Investigators said she then either didnâ??t stop or stopped and then pulled out, striking a wheel on the southbound tractor-trailer rig driven by Mark Willison, 47, of Columbia.

The impact spun the van around. It landed off the west side of the highway.

The truck also went of the west side of the highway, flipping onto its side. Both drivers had to be rescued from their vehicles.

Wilson was flown from the scene to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, where she is listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Willison was flown from the scene to University Hospital in Columbia.

A hospital spokeswoman told KTVO late Tuesday afternoon that Willison was treated and released.

Kirksville police were unable to speak to either driver at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
