'Dangerous fugitive' arrested in Florida
A Heartland man wanted by Schuyler County authorities has been arrested in the state of Florida.
Terry Anders, 40, of Glenwood, Mo., was arrested by Okaloosa County authorities after the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office received a tip on his whereabouts.
Anders is charged with three counts of attempted assault on a law enforcement officer, distribution of meth and felony resisting arrest.
According to court papers, when Schuyler County Sheriff's deputies, with assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the North Missouri Drug Task Force, arrived at Anders' residence to serve a search warrant in late March, Anders was sitting outside in a car. He then took off nearly striking a highway patrol car and two deputies. Anders then took off on foot, refusing to stop when told to do so by officers.
Anders has waived extradition back to Missouri and will be returned to Schuyler County to face charges. He is being held under $250,000 cash only bond.
