Ofc. Harsch announces the winner of the essay contest.
Wed, 07 May 2014 00:49:05 GMT — A lucky fourth grader at Davis County Elementary School took home a new computer on Tuesday. Bloomfield police officers visited fourth grade classrooms a couple months ago discussing personal safety. Then students submitted essays. Police officer Buddy Harsch selected Jersey Greever as the contest winner. "We came in and talked to each class for about 30 minutes about how to be safe," Harsch said. "Topics covered everything from fire safety to tornado safety, to stranger danger to drugs and alcohol and resistance." MPA Computers in Bloomfield donated the computer given away Tuesday. The company has been doing this for the past few years. Next, all the fourth graders who submitted personal safety essays will be entered into a national contest. Those are being mailed to North Dakota right now for judging.
