A Davis County home erupted in flames Wednesday morning resulting in total loss and charred ruins.
The Floris Fire Department received a message about a house fire in rural Davis County just off Highway 63 South around 7:15 a.m. and immediately responded. They were later joined by surrounding fire departments.
Three people were inside at the time of the fire, but everyone escaped without incident. The homeowner was seen by EMS for precautionary reasons, but nobody was injured.
"Right now the family is safe," said Davis County Deputy Sheriff Josh Sinnott. "They've received help from the Red Cross, and that's the main concern of all responding agencies--that everyone is safe."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
