Delay in trial for woman facing insurance fraud charges

A Centerville woman facing multiple federal charges has won a delay in her trial.

Angela Ellison, 45, is charged with four counts of filing false insurance claims against Medicaid, Wellmark, Aetna and United Health.

The indictment alleges she submitted false claims for payment to obtain money for services performed by various doctors to patients of her business, Cornerstone Counseling Center. The indictment alleges none of the services billed were actually performed.

The trial, originally set to begin Monday, has now been set to begin October 28 in Federal Court in Des Moines.
