Are you or someone you know looking for a summer job? Consider working for Kirksville??s Aquatic Center. They are currently accepting applications for the 2013 pool season and they will start conducting interviews in a few weeks. No lifeguard experience is necessary and they will train any applicant that is hired. Three classes will be held in the next few months to catch up any hired applicant that has not received training. Employers of the Aquatic Center do warn that this job isn??t always glamorous, but is rewarding.
??I think a lot of people don't realize what all it takes to be a lifeguard and what they're responsible for. We do a lot of training to get the lifeguard certification as well as in servicing every other week. Lifeguards are also responsible for the not so fun things like cleaning and putting up with injuries and all types of gross things that can happen: clean up accidents and spills. They work hard and do a great job keeping our community safe here,?? said Robin Harden a Recreation Special for the City of Kirksville.
