Documentary showcases Fairfield's history

Life before Fairfield is part one of an eight-film series that premiered in September/Fairfield Productions

The City of Fairfield is showcasing its history in a one-hour documentary Thursday night.

Life Before Fairfield is part one of an eight-film series that premiered in September. The documentary was such a hit, that the city wanted to bring it back for families to enjoy this holiday season.

The film's director and producer Dick DeAngelis told KTVO part one includes interviews and in-depth research about Fairfield’s past.

"We feel like kids need to understand what their town is about, more deeply, so it connects them in a way that they might not want to leave," DeAngelis said. "They might figure a way to start a business here and stay."

The screening is free and starts at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center.

To contribute to future productions, call DeAngelis at 641-919-4277.
