Doggie Luau allows dogs to beat the heat
Brashear Park was the place to be for some Heartland dogs Saturday afternoon as the Adair County Humane Society and Pawsitive Animal works held the 9th annual Doggie Luau.
For only $ 5, dog owners and their furry friends were allowed to swim and cool off at the Brasher Park Wading Pool.
Organizers say they couldn't ask for a better day for dogs to beat the heat.
"The dogs had a Great time today socializing with each other and other people. They all behaved very well and everyone had a great time," said Laci Cook of Pawsitive Animalworks.
About 50 plus dogs took part in the event. Our very own Ela Soroka bought her dog Bruiser for a swim in the pool.
All the money raised will go towards the Adair County Humane Society.
The next big event for dog lovers will be the opening of the McKinney Bark Park. That's scheduled for Saturday, September 6.
