Brashear Park was the place to be for some Heartland dogs Saturday.
The City of Kirksville, along with the Adair County Humane Society, Field of Dreams, and Pawsitive Animalworks, held the 8th annual Doggie Luau Saturday afternoon.
For only $5, dog owners and their four-legged friends were allowed to swim and cool off at the Brasher Park Wading Pool to have some summer fun. There were also doggy snacks for them to enjoy.
Organizers say they couldn't ask for a better day.
"We're excited about the turnout. The day is beautiful. Everyone is out here having a great time jumping in the pool and socializing their dogs. Overall a great day," Laci Cook of Pawsitive Animalworks.
About 25 participants took part in Saturday's event. Even KTVO's Ela Soroka and Scott Kellum brought their dogs for a swim in the pool
All the money raised will go towards the Adair County Humane Society.
