Dozens came out bright and early to join Court Appointed Special Advocates for its 10th annual Friends of CASA 5k Run/Walk at 8:30 Saturday morning.
Nearly 60 people of all ages came out to either run or walk to support the children and volunteers of the CASA program.
The race started at the Bruce Normile Juvenile Justice Center.
There were door prizes and medallions given to the top three finishers in each age group.
â??All the funds go directly to the children and also supporting the volunteers,â?? said Director Alyssa Athon, CASA Program. â??Anything the kids need. It can go for a backpack for school or glasses. Anything that the kids need to make sure that they have everything.â??
The first person who finished the race came in at 19 minutes and 45 seconds.
