A life-long Kirksville resident is throwing his hat into the political ring.
Dr. John Bailey announced Wednesday night in front of family and friends his plans to run for state representative. Bailey is currently an orthopedic surgeon in Kirksville and has been practicing medicine for over 20 years. He plans to be an advocate for those in the medical field and for those dealing with medical issues. The conservative state representative hopeful plans to look at the different forms of legislature concerning medical billing going through the state. Bailey also has plans, if elected, to decrease taxes in the Show-Me-State and help bring more small business to rural areas.
"I'm enthused. I'm ready to get this campaign going and see if we can change the state representative," said John Bailey, State Representative Candidate.
Bailey plans to attend numerous public functions in order to speak with community members about his plan for state representative.
