Drakesville man charged in animal neglect case
A Drakesville, Iowa man facing three dozen animal neglect charges will make his initial court appearance next week.
Online court records indicate Roger Alan Blew, 45, has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 7, 2014 at the Davis County Courthouse.
Blew has been assigned a court-appointed attorney.
His bond has been set at $1,000, and he has been ordered not to be in possession of any animals.
It was just last week that law enforcement officers found Blew's residence to be a literal house of horrors.
When officers searched his small trailer they found over 300 animals, many of which were dead and decomposing.
Blew faces a separate set of charges in Wapello County as a result of a February 17, 2014 traffic stop.
Police found several dead or dying animals in his vehicle at that time, which resulted in Blew being charged with four counts of animal cruelty.
He has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
