Driver hurt after hitting horse in highway
CHARITON COUNTY, Mo. —
A northern Missouri driver was hurt when his small pickup truck hit a horse in the highway.
It happened at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 5 about five miles north of Keytesville, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said John Pope, 48, of Keytesville, was southbound on Highway 5 when his pickup struck a horse in the roadway.
Pope suffered moderate injuries.
He was taken by ambulance to Moberly Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Pope was not buckled up.
