Driver thrown from truck in Highway 63 rollover crash

Tue, 25 Feb 2014 21:44:59 GMT — UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that Val G. Hedworth, 41, Bevier, has died of his injuries. According to the Online Crash Report, Hedworth was pronounced dead at 5 a.m. Wednesday at University Hospital in Columbia. The Patrol says this is the fourth fatality for 2014 in the Troop B area.A Bevier, Mo., man is hospitalized with injuries suffered in an early-morning crash.According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Online Crash Report, Val G. Hedworth, 41, of Bevier, was seriously injured in the crash. Authorities say the crash happened eight miles south of Macon at 5:40 Tuesday morning.According to the report, Hedworth was driving southbound on U.S. 63 when he failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road. The Patrol says the pickup Hedworth was driving overturned and Hedworth was ejected.Hedworth was taken by Macon County Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia, Mo. A University Hospital public relations spokeswoman says Hedworth is listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
