Drought trumped by floods in Memphis, Missouri

Flooding under highway 136 along the North Fabius River.

A months long drought came to a dramatic end today in Scotland County

The North Fabius River saw some extensive flash flooding late Wednesday night into Thursday.

KTVO checked with local businesses to see if there was any damage caused by the flood and the good news is most businesses were not affected by the flood waters.

The water did make it up to the doors of several Memphis businesses.

Some county roads were still blocked by water on Thursday, but the major roads did remain open throughout the storm.

The worst of the flooding is past and life in Scotland County should be back to normal by the weekend.
