Early morning fire destroys home in Brashear.

Investigators have learned the cause of an early morning house fire in Bashear.

Eastern Fire Chief James Snyder told KTVO that he and a state fire investigator determined the blaze started as a flue fire.

Snyder said the flue fire was caused by improper installation. The owners of the home were using a wood fireplace as a heating source.

Snyder says crews were on the scene for more than 11 hours Friday.
