A Thanksgiving meal came just a bit early for Kirksville residents Friday afternoon.
Hundreds turned out to feast on a turkey dinner at the local El Kadir Shrine Club for the 38th annual luncheon and bazaar.
The event was put together by the Jewels, who are wives or widows of the Shriners. Baked goods, crafts, and other holiday items were on sale to benefit a good cause.
"We are raising funds to contribute to the Burns Center, Children's Hospital, the local transportation fund, and we also help the local Shiner's Club" said Mary Playle, Co-Chair of the luncheon.
The luncheon typically brings in almost $6,000 for the causes each year.
