Eldon's American Gothic Days are right around the corner and registration is open for all of the weekend's events.
Gothic Days will be held June 13-15. A 5K run/walk will be held on Saturday starting at 7:30 am, followed by a parade. An 18-mile bike ride will be held on Sunday.
The Gothic Area Tourism of Eldon looks back at each year's event and adds or changes activities. Some of those activities this year are mud volleyball and disc golf tournaments, an art contest and cardboard boat races. American Gothic Performing Arts will also be doing three presentations of the musical "Pump Boys and Dinettes".
Gothic Days has quickly become a staple of the Eldon community, with everyone pitching in to help.
"It's definitely a town effort to put on Gothic Days," said Holly Berg, Administrator of the American Gothic House. "It's spearheaded by GATE, but lots of community members come together to help with all the events. Definitely everybody is on board for the whole weekend."
