Election Day in Missouri coming to a close
If you haven't cast your vote yet, you still have some time. Missouri polls close at 7 p.m.
One of the biggest topics on the General Municipal Election Ballot is the continuation of Kirksville's 'Half-Cent Transportation Sales Tax'. Kirksville residents are deciding whether to keep that tax. The 'Half-Cent Tax' funds improvements to city streets. Also on the ballot are those running for seats on the Kirksville City Council and the Kirksville School Board.
"These are the items that will really effect the community where you live, so it's very important to get out to vote for these issues," said Sandy Collop, Adair County Clerk.
Just a reminder when going to vote, be sure to bring your voter registration card, a form of photo identification, school ID or a copy of a current utility bill.
The candidates running for Kirksville City Council include Roger Edge, Richard Steele, Michael Ambrosia and Jerry Mills. The candidates running for Kirksville School Board include Judy Duden, T. Jack Ward, Nan Davis, Greg Gordon and Holly Graham-Miletich.
