Evans Middle School students will be attempting to multiply and divide their way to victory at this year's Mathcounts Competition.
The nationally recognized competition will be held this Friday at Indian Hills in the Rural Health Building starting at 9 a.m.
Ten students from Evans Middle School will be competing--these students range in grades from 6th to 8th.
They will compete together representing the middle school in the team round, but will also compete as individuals against other schools in the area.
The top ten individuals will compete in a head-to-head round, and the last student standing will advance to the state competition.
Angie Sheets is the coach of the team, and while she said she had a couple students make it into the top ten last year, she's expecting another strong showing.
"I certainly think we are capable of moving on to state this year with our team," said Sheets. "We've got a very strong team this year."
The Mathcounts State Competition will be held in Des Moines at Drake University.
