Fairfield Arts and Convention Center hosts community appreciation party

The Fairfield Arts and Convention Center hosted a community appreciation party Saturday afternoon.

The fourth annual event comes just before the kids have to go back to school. Today the fun-filled festivities took place both indoors and out. With a dunk tank, bounce house, balloon animals, face painting and lots of games, the whole family was sure to have a great time.

â??It came about this year with Fairfield not having a swimming pool, we wanted to give the kids an opportunity to come out,â?? Rustin Lippincott, FACC Executive Director said. â??Everything is free, so it's been a fun day to see the parents come out, see the kids come out and enjoy living in Fairfield, enjoy having the convention center in their own backyard.â??

Lipponcott says the kids were able to dunk him at the dunking booth over a dozens times. In addition to the games, the Fairfield dance team also performed, followed by a special preview of Shrek from Off Broadway. Tickets for various show times are still available online and at the Sondheim Center.
