Fairfield Farmers Market sees steady traffic before Christmas
The Winter Farmers Market in Fairfield was in full swing today as many shoppers picked up some last minute Christmas gifts.
The market is the only farmers market in the area that operates during the Winter.
And according to Fairfield Farmers Market President Joy Salmon, with Christmas only a couple days away there was an extra buzz at today's market.
"It's been very busy all day--a constant, constant traffic," said Salmon.
Many of the customers were there to purchase the organic, gluten free, and vegan offerings. The market features fresh produce, hot lunches, baked goods, and handmade items.
In addition to the Christmas traffic, the market also sustains a regular clientele and 150 full and part-time vendors.
The market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Senior Center in Fairfield.
