Fairfield holds 175th Birthday Celebration
Sun, 06 Jul 2014 14:45:00 GMT —
The 175th Birthday celebration in Fairfield wasn't a complete washout due to the rain. Fun was still found, even in the showers.
History was alive at Maasdam Barns as numerous antique tractors were on display. Despite the weather, tours will still offered where guides were able to talk about the history of the tractors.
"Well, we had invited some people with some old tractors to come out and put them on display, unfortunately, the weather kind of put a kaput to that, but there are tractors on display," said Lyle Maudlin, of Maasdam Barns.
Due to the weather, may of the activities that were supposed to take place this afternoon at Water Works Park have been postponed until Labor Day weekend. However, some activities will still be going on Sunday. The Fairfield Square will be filled with antique cars as part of the 'Celebration Car Show.' That show will run from 10a.m. until 4 p.m. rain or shine. Live music and a children's coloring contest will complete the day.
