Fairfield PD investigating high school threat
Law enforcement is investigating a threat made at a Heartland high school.
According to a press release from the Fairfield Police Department, Fairfield Community school officials contacted the department Monday morning to report a possible threat to student safety made over the weekend.
Officers responded immediately to investigate the situation.
They did not find any immediate threat to student safety.
At this time no criminal act has been identified, however, Fairfield police are continuing their investigation.
Officers are still trying to identify and interview potential witnesses.
The Fairfield Police Department notes that it has trained with school personnel in recently to help improve communication between the agencies and to ensure student safety.

Officers of the Fairfield Police Department (FPD) were involved with an investigation at the Fairfield High School. Fairfield High School (FHS) staff contacted FPD at approximately 8:30 AM, in reference to possible general threats made over the previous weekend. Fairfield Community School District personnel and FPD officers have attended training and meetings together to improve student safety and communication between the two agencies. Both agencies have agreed there will be zero tolerance when there is even a possible threat to our childrenâ??s safety.
FPD officers immediately responded to the FHS to investigate and to secure the area. The investigation was quickly completed, thanks to the cooperation of FHS staff. There were NO immediate safety concerns identified and no specific threats to any student or staff. It was determined the Fairfield Community School District Schools are safe with no known threats to any students.
This investigation is still ongoing because all possible witnessed have not been identified. Because of the ongoing investigation no other information can be released now. No criminal act has been identified, at this time, but the investigation continues. To confirm, the main priority in this investigation was to identify any safety concerns for students or staff and no threats have been identified.
THE FAIRFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT CONFIRMS A CRIMINAL CHARGE IS MERELY AN ACCUSATION AND THE DEFENDANT IS PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL AND UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
