Fairfield youth pastor charged with sexual assault
FAIRFIELD, Iowa —
A Fairfield youth pastor is accused of forcing himself on a special needs patient.
Jefferson County Attorney Tim Dille told KTVO Christopher Paul, 61, was arrested and charged Friday with Third-Degree Sexual Abuse.
In November of 2016, Dille said Paul sexually assaulted the victim, who was 20 years old at the time.
Dille said the two met through a youth mentoring program at a church in Fairfield.
Paul posted bond and was released from the Jefferson County Jail Friday. His arraignment is set for Dec. 11, 2017.
If convicted as charged, Paul could face up to 10 years behind bars.
