YMCA's across the country Saturday celebrated National Healthy Kids Day and the Heartland joined in on the fun as well.
The Adair County Family YMCA in Kirksville is held a Healthy Kids event Saturday morning.
There were activities kids and their families could participate in including a bounce house, jump rope games, and tricycle races.
There were also healthy snacks and tips booths to help encourage children and their families to live healthier lives and get active.
"Something to do throughout the summer to stay active and motivated and not sit around and do nothing. We sent home information for them and showed them things they can do at home to be healthy," said Diane Corder, Membership and Wellness Director at the Adair County Family YMCA.
Kids as well got a big surprise with a visit of Elmo from Sesame Street. He played games with the kids.
About 200 people came to the event.
