Family fight lands two in jail

An apparent family fight, lands two family members in jail facing felony charges.
Jackie Potter, 32, of Kirksville, is charged with felony Domestic Assault, while Kevin Potter, 20, of rural Kirksville, is charged with felony Domestic Assault and a misdemeanor count of a Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
According to court documents, while traveling on route B, Jackie Potter, allegedly lunged at Kenneth Potter and began striking him.
According to the probable cause statement, when the vehicle arrived at the Potter residence, Jackie Potter walked around the vehicle and began hitting Kenneth again. Kenneth told authorities he got out of the car to defend himself and called for his son Dewey, who was asleep in the house, to help him.
Kenneth told sheriff's deputies that Jackie had also hit him with a garden hoe during the incident. Kenneth TMs wife, Lisa, who authorities say was the only sober person in the car, told authorities that Jackie began hitting Kenneth for no apparent reason.
Jackie Potter and Kevin Potter are both being held in the Adair County Jail under $25,000 cash only bond each.
