Despite the cloudy weather and chilly temperatures, residents came out to the downtown Kirksville square for the first Kirksville Kiwanis Club Farmers' Market of the year Saturday morning.
It's the 36th year and about 15 area producers, growers and vendors were out selling fresh produce and crafts.
Kiwanis members said you can expect new vendors in the next few weeks.
"I've had a lot of people call me asking if they can be involved in Farmers' Market. New vendors bringing in different things like new crafts and new vegetables and plants. I'm just hoping to see it grow each year as it has for the past several years," said Farmers' Market Committee Chair Susan FitzGerald.
Kiwanis members also told us that the market will grow as the season progresses, temperatures warm up and more produce will be available.
The Kirksville Farmers' Market will now run every Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon through the end of October.
