Father and son arrested in burglary ring

Randall Perkins, 33, of Kirksville was arrested in the parking lot of Moberlyâ??s Wal-Mart Supercenter as part of a set up â??stingâ?? operation, according to a press release from the Macon County Sheriffâ??s Office.

The Macon County Sheriffâ??s office began investigating stolen saddles in Excello and was lead to multi-county burglary ring.

The owners of the saddles called the police once they noticed a posting on Craigslist advertising saddles for sale which matched the description of their stolen property.

After further investigation, police were led to the arrest of the Perkins father, Randall Perkins Sr., 59 of Moberly, for his involvement in the burglary ring. Perkins Sr. has been charged with six counts of burglary in the 2nd degree.

Sheriff Robert Dawson says other property was recovered including a saddle, hunting and finishing equipment, guns and tools.

On July 12th, Perkins Jr. was sentenced to three years in Shelby County Circuit Court for sale and posession of equipment or parts with missing or altered identification. Perkins Jr. was to report the Shelby County Sheriff's Office on July 19th to be taken to prison.
