Fire guts Milan laundromat; cause determined
The fire that gutted a northeast Missouri laundromat this week has been ruled accidental.
Milan Fire Chief Jody Glidewell told KTVO two state fire investigators were called in to look into the cause of Monday afternoon's blaze at Head's Laundromat in the 300 block of North Pearl Street in Milan.
The fire happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Fire crews were on the scene in about 15 minutes.
Glidewell said when he and his firefighters got there, the building was fully involved.
It took approximately 20 minutes to put out with the help of the Green City Fire Department.
After searching, investigators determined the fire was caused by a ceiling light fixture in the southwest corner of the building.
The laundromat is a total loss.
