A new summer reading program is now available for your kids.
The Adair County Public Library kicked off their Fizz! Boom! Read! program this week.
Which will help keep your little ones reading even after the school doors close for summer.
Children ages 2-12 are encouraged to sign-up.
Sign-ups are accepted throughout the program, which runs until July 3rd. The goal is for each child to read at least 30 minutes a day.
Experts suggest that kids continue to read during the summer to keep their skills fresh.
â??Thirty minutes a day will keep their skills going, and thatâ??s the bare minimum,â?? said Diane Burger, childrenâ??s librarian. â??The main thing is that we do a pleasure connection, we make a bridge between reading and fun and thatâ??s what makes a life-long reader.â??
Other activities at the library include â??Everything Ologyâ?? on Tuesdays where children can participate in hands-on activities and listen to area scientists at 10:30am.
